We’re back on track! Rescheduled from November 2020 (due to the COVID-19 pandemic), we are ecstatic to announce our first tour, coming September 17-28 2021!

The Conductors has been created by Kerfuffle, one of only three companies in the country exclusively producing theatre for very young audiences. Featuring live music and playful audience participation, The Conductors is a silly, joyful, and engaging first theatre experience for children ages 2-6 and their families. Join the conductors as they explore community and connection along the railroad lines!

The Connecting Routes Project makes theater accessible by touring productions from Chicago by train directly to communities across America's railway network. This play will tour the Chicagoland area by Metra and the South Shore Line, and presented in public spaces, such as libraries, museums, parks, and community centers.

The Conductors is scheduled to tour September 17-28, 2021 to the following venues.

For the safety of our actors and young audience members, all performances are now outdoors! We kindly ask all people over the age of 2 to mask up throughout the event, regardless of vaccination status, and to practice social distancing when seating in the performance area. A few soft green pods will be available, but if able, please bring camp chairs, blankets, or cushions to sit on with your family or group! (Our cast and crew are fully vaccinated.)

Future Plans

As we expand our repertoire, new productions will typically start their touring life with us on our Metra regional network, sharing their work first with the greater Chicagoland community.

Following a regional tour, productions could then expand to a national tour on Amtrak.

We will continue to collect stories from the audiences we meet through our community storytelling programs, and partner with communities to create original works inspired by their stories. These uniquely American stories will soon become theatrical productions that tour the nation, connecting with audiences in communities all across the country.
